“I highly recommend NJ Ladyfingers band. They went out of their way to dress the part and play the music that fitted the theme of my event. Took the time to learn and play requested music to fit theme of event and showed nothing but professionalism when functioning with other artists. Made the event an event which people are constantly praising. Thanks Victor. -Victor T, Tampa, FL ” - V. Troupe
“ It took more than 10 years for Mrs. Normita Jeffery to release a new CD. However, her audience was waiting patiently because the CD is climbing the charts. "I've been pleased with the response, which shows me that we really miss Smooth Jazz in this area. I'm still celebrating because the CD is making major noise in the United Kingdom. It is currently #6 on the Top 30 Soul Charts"' Mrs. Jeffery said. She created the jazz band known as "Ladyfingers" more than 20 years ago. She credits corporate America with giving her the courage to do it. A Tampa native, Mrs. Jeffery said she began taking piano lessons at the age of seven. After graduating from Middleton High School, she enrolled at Florida A&M University. She graduated with a BS Degree in Music Education, with an emphasis in Piano Performance. Then she decided the time had come to move in a different direction, and she entered the corporate world. "Corporate America casued me to step out on faith and do my music." She began by picking up jobs on the weekends. She decided on the LadyFingers because she plays the piano and she is a lady. Then she met another lady, talented vocalist Sonja Wise. Although the number of members in the band have risen and fallen, she and Sonja Wise have been constant, performing together for more than 20 years. Of the duo, Mrs. Jeffery says, "I'm the fingers, she's the flavor". Adding to the current mix are Basil Powell, lead guitarist, who has been with the group for several years, and drummer, James Norman, rounding out the quartet. The CD features 10 new songs, eight of which Mrs. Jeffery wrote. She said it also contains two cover songs, "People Make the World Go 'Round" and "You Know How To Love Me". She worked with local Producer, Chris Spencer, who provided a fresh approach to the music. Local Smooth Jazz artist Allon Sams is credited with the mix, mastering, and engineering. Mrs. Jeffery is married to Timothy Jeffery and is the mother of two daughters. She wrote one of the songs about her only grandchild, enitled "Jayla Baby". Mrs. Jeffery said she cares for her mother, Mrs. Bessie Rodriguez, and enjoys writing music. ” - IRIS HOLTON

“Words cannot express how happy I am that I hired NJ Ladyfingers for my wedding this past May! From beginning to end Normita was an absolute pleasure to work with. Her professionalism, kindness, and eagerness to help and make everything a smooth process was something that I appreciated so much. I did not have to worry about a thing! The band was GREAT, and I am still receiving compliments and great reviews from our guests a month later! Great live music is very hard to come by, but with NJ Ladyfingers I hit the jackpot! Thank you NJ Ladyfingers for making my wedding so special! Side note - the new CD is great! ” - Marissa Wallace-Lewis
“Normita was fantastic to deal with. This was probably the easiest part of planning the entire event! I would highly recommend this band to anyone. She had two of her musicians perform for me on the beach during the ceremony at no additional charge. She took care of all of the details with the hotel. The music was sensational. Great, great band and fun! ” - Shelley Buckhantz
“LadyFingers was professional from the moment of initial contact. They were prompt and most importantly, they were wonderful. All of my guests were very pleased. I would use and refer them first for any occasion. 2/28/2009, Wedding, Tampa, FL” - Connie Preston-hill
“LadyFingers is stellar and "A MUST" for your event. The musicians and the singer were top class all the way. Everyone in the crowd loved the group - from the adullts (of all ages) to the children. We danced and sang with them. The professionalism was off the charts. It was a pleasure working with Normita for the contractual portion, as well as on the evening of the event. Additionally, the band took time out to sing with our children and dance with them as well. We could not have asked for anything more. We will book them for next year's event and anything else we can. We love LadyFingers!!” - Andrea McCray-Holly

“Jazz Artist Gives Listeners an Earful With the relase of the first Cd, EARGASM, jazz artist Normita Jeffery could bring a new catchword to the music scene. EARGASM is a mixture of the different musical ideas and styles that Jeffery has experimented with since she revived her musical passion. She describes an 'eargasm' as a feeling of extreme musical excitement experienced when a particular chord, lyric, or passage in a composition is heard. "This feeling starts at the ear and ends in the pleasure center of the brain." This writer agrees, this CD has the right name!! Tim Grant” - Tim Grant

“Ladyfingers' style of music appeals to the younger crowd as well as mature audiences of smooth jazz. They play MUSIC, not just bits and pieces of samples. True fans of this genre will find that the music is as original as the name!” - D'Andre' Murvin
